Onym documentation
Measure how AI recommends your brand
Onym asks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and the coding assistants your buyers' questions, then counts who gets named. Read the numbers in the dashboard, or pull them into your own tools.

How the pieces fit
Every number in Onym comes from the same chain. You choose the prompts. Each run asks every prompt on every surface. Each reply is an answer, and Onym finds the brands it mentions and the URLs it cites. Metrics are counts over those answers.
Your first request
curl https://getonym.com/api/v1/domains/acme.example/metrics \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://getonym.com/api/v1/domains/acme.example/metrics",
headers={"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"},
)
vis = r.json()["kpis"]["visibility"]
print(f"{vis['rate']:.0%} of {vis['n']} answers name you")const r = await fetch("https://getonym.com/api/v1/domains/acme.example/metrics", {
headers: { Authorization: "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" },
});
const { kpis } = await r.json();
console.log(kpis.visibility.rate);# Add Onym to Claude Code, then ask "Which competitors gained on ChatGPT this month?"
claude mcp add --transport http onym https://getonym.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"Because metrics are counts, every rate comes with its sample size and a 95% range, and a change is only reported when the ranges stop overlapping. Confidence and significance explains why.
